Arkansas Free Tree Friday Ends With a Big Day in Texarkana Arkansas & Texas

Get ready for a great Arbor Day this Friday in Texarkana. Texarkana will be one of the locations in Arkansas wrapping up the 2023 Free Tree Fridays with the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division.

But this will be a very special Free Tree Friday as it will be an Arkansas-Texas Free  Tree Friday. The Arkansas Forestry Division is teaming up with the Texas A&M Forest Service for this special event.

Kristine Kimbro, who is a Texarkana native and the Urban and Community Forestry Coordinator for the Forestry Division said in a press release;

“We have been pleased with the success of this year’s Free Tree Friday events and are excited to conclude the events with our first joint giveaway with Texas A&M Forest Service. Adding trees to yards or to the community around Texarkana is good for Arkansans and Texans alike.”

Free Tree Friday in Texarkana will take place this Friday, April 28 from 11 AM to 1 PM

And it will take place at the most appropriate place ever. State Line Avenue.

 What Kind of Trees Will Be Given Away on Free Tree Friday?

Species have varied by location with at least two of the following species being offered at each giveaway:

American Elm, River Birch, Bald Cypress, Persimmon, and/or Red Mulberry

This is a first come, first serve event and there is a limit of three seedlings per person.

Where in Texarkana is The Arkansas-Texas Free Tree Friday?

As I said this event will be just as unique as Texarkana with the tree giveaway being held both in Arkansas and Texas on State Line at:

Arkansas side of State Line at CVS located at 3908 North State Line Avenue and on the Texas side at Walgreens located at 4415 North State Line Avenue

This event will be from 11 AM to 1 PM or until all the bare root seedlings are given away.
