The Hooks Junior High 8th Grade Class is hosting a 5K run/walk/slumber event to help raise funds for their trip to Washington, D.C. This event will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, 8AM at the TexAmericas entrance on Highway 82 in Hooks, Texas.

Hooks Junior High (HJH) 8th grade students are given a once in a lifetime opportunity each year to experience our nation’s capital. These students are required to raise all of their own funds to participate in this trip to Washington, D.C,. either by personal donation or fundraisers. The students will play an important role in the planning and execution of this event.

"The parents and teachers involved in this event have a firm belief that the students need to earn the money for this trip," says Jennifer Robnett, 8th grader parent. "The kids that have gone in the past have come back amazed at what they saw and learned. Students will learn that hard work does pay off. Thank you in advance for your supporting these kids."

The deadline to enter is February 24 and participants must be 7 years of age or older. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor for or participating in this event, please contact Nancy Reiter at 903-278-2338, or you can pick up forms for sponsorship and registration at the Hooks Junior High.
