Even though we are trying to get back to normal again there are still a lot of people that are experiencing tough times due to the effects of COVID on the economy. Harvest Regional Food Bank will be distributing 500 emergency food boxes to New Boston-area residents.

The distribution will take place Wednesday, September 1, beginning at 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM  or until all the boxes have been distributed. It will all take place at T&P Trail Head Park Pavilion located at 200 S Ellis Street in New Boston, TX.

Only One Box Per Household And 2 Households Per Vehicle

 

To receive an emergency food box you will be directed to enter the Festival Grounds Entrance from the SE Front St.

This distribution is for the New Boston area that includes: Bassett, Dalby Springs, De Kalb, Hooks, Hubbard, Malta, Maud, New Boston, Redwater, Simms, and Spring Hill.

 

Camille Coker Wrinkle, Harvest CEO/Executive Director stated in a press release:

“With the recent rise in hunger, it’s more important than ever that Harvest meet the needs of our food-insecure families where they are. Our goal is to continue making sure families have the food they need, even during this challenging time.”

Of course, please remember that CDC precautions and recommendations against the Coronavirus are still in place, Harvest is taking every measure to ensure the safety of its staff, volunteers and recipients. Mobile pantries are now operating as “drive-thru” distributions, with food boxes being loaded directly into vehicles. Recipients will not be allowed to exit the vehicle or park to pick up food.

On Wednesday, September 15 the Harvest Regional Food Bank TEFAP USDA Commodity Mobile Pantry will be going to Columbia County. From 9 AM to 11 AM at the Waldo Fire Department located at 102 East Main Street in Waldo, Arkansas. TEFAP USDA Commodity Pantry Boxes will be provided to the first 120 qualifying households.
