We’ve come to grips with the sad fact that FX’s Fargo will sit out 2016 for a Season 3 premiere next year, and Ewan McGregor has two reasons to brave the cold. The erstwhile Star Wars star will have not one, but two leading roles in Fargo Season 3 next year, the first full details of which have been uncovered from the snow.

Where one might think the dual-casting implies McGregor to be playing twins, Fargo Season 3 will instead see the actor as regular brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy, described thusly:

Emmit Stussy is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man, Emmit sees himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother, Ray Stussy, on the other hand is more of a cautionary tale. Balding, pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, Ray has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames his brother, Emmit, for his misfortunes.

Production likely set for November 2016, we know of Fargo Season 3 that the 2010 setting will enter “selfie-oriented culture,” and feature at least one returning character from either the 2006, or 1979 seasons. Hawley will at least remain at the reins, despite the Fargo showrunner’s increasingly busy FX schedule, while it remains unknown what Coen brothers influences can we expect this time around.

In the meantime, stay tuned for the latest on Fargo Season 3, as we learn who else might join the next round of Minnesota mayhem.
