Donations Needed for Free Thanksgiving Meal at Local Shelter
The Randy Sams Outreach Shelter will be offering a free Thanksgiving meal for the less fortunate and homeless from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thanksgiving Day in Texarkana at 402 Oak Street.
However, the shelter is still in need of food donations in order to make sure that everybody is provided with a hot meal on Thanksgiving.
Food Still Needed
Hams are needed, they already have enough turkeys.
Traditional Sides Needed
- mashed potatoes,
- macaroni and cheese
- #10 cans of green beans
- sweet potatoes
- turnip collard greens for casseroles
- #10 cans fruit cocktail
- french fried onions
- butter
- dressings
- gravy
- cream of mushroom soup
- variety of pies
Drinks
- Canned Soda
- Bottle Water
Tableware and cleaning supplies are also needed. Monetary donations are also accepted. For a full list of supplies visit their Facebook page. Cash donations or checks can be taken to 803 Spruce.

Other Places Serving Thanksgiving Meals are Mission Texarkana from 11-1 on Tuesday next to Randy Sams and the Salvation Army Center of Hope located downtown will be serving Thanksgiving Dinner from 4 PM to 7 PM.
