Dollar General Dedicates First Hour Of Operation To Customers Vulnerable to COVID-19

Dollar General announced plans to dedicate the first hour of each shopping day to seniors shoppers and amended store operating hours began today.In upholding the company's mission of serving other, Dollar General provide their "at risk" customers the ability to purchase items they need and want at the beginning of the day to avoid busier, crowed shopping periods. Therefore, beginning today, Dollar General is strongly encouraging that the first hour of operations each day be dedicated solely for the shopping needs of senior customers, who are one of the groups most vulnerable to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

In effort to allow the most susceptible customers in our community an opportunity to shop, Dollar General is encouraging other customers to plan their shopping trips around this window of time. Azlond Stewart, a local Dollar Store employee shared the following:

Locally Dollar General Stores will open an hour early for senior citizens, parents with small children, and cancer patients.

Additionally, all stores plan to close one hour earlier than current close times to allow employees to clean and re-stock store shelves, as well as for their health and well-being.
