After a tumultuous couple of years that have seen her dealing with romantic struggles, a stint in rehab, career upheaval, and family turmoil, Demi Lovato deserves a public triumph — and now she has one, with the number one debut of her new single, ‘Skyscraper,’ on the iTunes chart.

Released on Tuesday, with the video making its official debut on E! Wednesday, ‘Skyscraper’ represents Lovato’s return to music after a two-year layoff. Her last full-length album, ‘Here We Go Again,’ was released in July of 2009, spinning off a top 40 single with the title track.

Written by Toby Gad, Kerli Kõiv and Lindy Robbins and produced by Gad, ‘Skyscraper’ will presumably function as the lead single for a new full-length effort from Lovato, but details have not yet been announced.
