Ready for some big spring cleaning? The city of Texarkana, Texas along with Texas A&M Texarkana are ready to help you with a big day this Saturday, April 9. Texarkana is participating in the statewide Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off and in conjunction with Texas A&M University Texarkana's Big Event a day of service. It's the Community Clean Up and Trash Off.

Texas A&M Texarkana's Big Event is where students, faculty, staff, alumni and families all get together and lend a hand or two to the community, giving residents a chance to clean up their area roadways and neighborhoods.

It all takes place from 8 AM. to 12 PM Saturday, April 9 at the U.S. Post Office/Courthouse downtown Texarkana located at 500 N. Stateline Avenue. The road around the Courthouse will be closed for the opening events and festivities.

This really is a community event with the clean-up taking place at four different subdivisions around town, including Beverly, Rosehill, New Town, and the Texarkana Public Library. At each location, residents will find a roll-off dumpster where they will be able to drop off any bulk waste and trash they might want to get rid of.  Please, keep in mind you will not be able to drop off items like electronics, batteries, paint, tires or any other hazardous waste.
