Blast From The Past at Quirky Roadside Museum in Arkansas
In the radio business, we've coined the phrase "Trip Down Memory Lane" to best describe a song that was popular during a certain time period. In the small town of Berryville, Arkansas a local man takes that a step further and brings back the nostalgic days with his vintage collectibles.
Memory Lane Museum
The moment you step foot into Memory Lane Museum you'll be transported back in time from the 30s to the 60s in this one-of-a-kind roadside attraction on Highway 62 that is definitely worth the drive.
You will be blown away by all the vintage road signs, neon signs, and a ton of memorabilia that will certainly bring back some childhood memories, I know it did for me just seeing all these things.
Jerry has been collecting items for over 20 years and he's also the museum curator and will be happy to tell you about all the unique relics you will see and the dates of when they were around.
If there was ever a Mayberry as in the television show, Berryville is the home to a lot of great memories from the past. Where is Floyd?
Does anyone remember the Pen vending machine?
The 74-year-old retired former construction business owner is very passionate about everything he's collected over the years. He's got a story for every item and knows all the dates associated with them. He joked by saying,
"When I retired from the construction business I had to find something to do and this was it."
I'm sure it's all worth the time and effort if he's able to bring a memory or smile to someone's face about a more simple way of life. And we certainly all need that living in this world today.
Old Time Village
Memory Lane also features an old-time village that features a post office, barber shop, bank, Happy Days Diner, and a one-room schoolhouse, all filled with nostalgic items and merchandise including a popcorn and peanut machine, retro toys, scooters, wagons, Coca-Cola coolers, gas pumps, and even a few classic cars.
This place is like a photographer's heaven! You can capture so many memories here.
Memory Lane Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday and is located right off Highway 62 and is a great place to stop on your way to Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
