Blackpink Made History as the First K-Pop Girl Group at Coachella and Fans Are So Proud

Blackpink made history at Coachella on Friday (April 11) by being the first K-pop girl group to perform at the festival. Not only was the performance live-streamed on YouTube, but also New York City's Time Square.

Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé played the Sahara Stage with the crowd spilling out past the stage setup. From both afar and closeup, it truly looked like you were at a Blackpink concert and not at a music festival. Seeing the crowd chant "Blackpink in your area" was a sight to see both in person and on the live-stream of their set.

"Is this real or is this a computer effect?" Lisa asked the crowd. Jennie added, “Us coming all the way from South Korea, we didn’t know what to expect, and obviously we- you guys and us - we’re from totally different worlds. But tonight, I think we’ve learned so deeply that music brings us as one. So I want to thank you guys tonight for sticking by to the end of the show."

It wasn't just the fans loving them and their show, Jaden Smith greeted the ladies prior to their performance backstage. DJ and producer Diplo even shared videos on his Instagram of the girls slaying their performance.

The one hour set left fans and viewers at home wanting more. Social media went crazy with tweets in support of the group and their iconic and history-making performance.
