Arkansas Man Finds Largest Diamond Of 2022 at Crater of Diamonds State Park
If you are looking for a fun summer activity then you might want to grab the family and head over to The Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas, because someone just found a big diamond.
"One of the other guys and I have been going back and forth, seeing who can find the biggest diamond. I found a big one, then he got a 1.79-carat and we were joking about who would find the next big diamond and be 'king of the mountain.'"
It was big alright.
Hardin was wet sifting when he found the diamond on April 10.
Park Interpreter Waymon Cox said
“Mr. Hardin’s diamond is about the size of a pinto bean, with a coffee brown color and a rounded shape."
When you find a big diamond at Crater of Diamonds State Park most people name them. Hardin has named his Frankenstone, he picked the name because he felt that the diamond it's "pretty" and not so pretty at the same time. He plans on selling the diamond as he has sold others he has found in the past.
So far there have been 260 diamonds registered at Crater of Diamonds State Park this year. Park officials say that usually one to two diamonds are found every day.
Crater of Diamonds State Park is located on Arkansas Highway 301 in Murfreesboro.
