No change at the top in this weeks Kicker Cup City Championship Standings in high school football.

Both the Razorbacks and the Hawks were big winners last Friday night. Arkansas High beating Hot Springs 37-20 on Homecoming Night, and Pleasant Grove shutting out Gilmer on the road 14-0. Both games played in a driving rainstorm.

Texas High and Liberty-Eylau have already been eliminated from the chance to win possession of the Traveling Kicker Cup Trophy for the next year.

Arkansas High is currently 7-1 and Pleasant Grove is 6-2, with two regular season games left for each team. The Hawks are the defending Kicker Cup City Champions.

The traveling trophy goes each year to the Texarkana high school football team that finishes the regular season with the best over all record and is crowned the City Champion. In case of ties, head to head match-ups or best point differential is used to decide the winner.

The Kicker Cup is now in its 23rd year. We want to thank our sponsor Red River Federal Credit Union and Rogers Trophy and Signs for donating the cup back in 1996 and for each year engraving the newly crowned winners name.

We will go to the winning schools first playoff pep rally and present the trophy to the coaches and players.

Continued good luck to both Arkansas High and Pleasant Grove as they continue their regular season and prepare for the upcoming football playoffs.
