Swepco reports some scattered power outages around the area due to the extremely windy conditions this morning. The power company reports around 1,000 customers without power in Bowie and Miller Counties in our area due to limbs and trees pulling down power lines. Winds have been gusting for hours up to 35 mph out of the west and causing the problems, plus a line of storms raced through the region overnight.

The good news is that the winds should slowly begin to subside as the day progresses ending the power outage threat. Swepco says power will be restored as quickly as possible.
