The tragic, sudden death of Whitney Houston send the legendary singer’s ‘Greatest Hits’ album to No. 1 on the iTunes chart almost instantly. The singer’s 2000 compilation album was steady at No. 2 for hours until ultimately overthrowing chart queen Adele‘s ’21′ for the top spot.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Houston’s singles are also rising up the iTunes digital charts. Her iconic rendition of Dolly Parton’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ rests at top spot on the singles chart, while  ’I Wanna Dance With Somebody,’ ‘How Will I Know,’ ‘Greatest Love of All,’ ‘One Moment in Time,’ ‘I Have Nothing,’ ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go,’ ‘Didn’t We Almost Have It All’ and ‘I’m Every Woman’ are all on the top 100 iTunes chart.

The album is broken into two thematic discs. Disc one, ‘Cool Down,’ features Houston’s legendary power ballads, while ‘Throw Down’ showcased her vocal chops alongside remixes and her dance hits.

Houston passed away yesterday (Feb. 11) at 48. The cause of death has yet to be determined, but reports say that Houston’s bodyguard found her in the bathtub of the Beverly Hilton hotel, where she was staying prior to her scheduled appearance at Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy party. Jennifer Hudson will pay tribute to Houston at the Grammys ceremony tonight (Feb. 12), which kicks off at 8PM ET.
