This Friday is "Pink Out Day" in Texarkana. To highlight breast cancer awareness month please wear pink on Friday, October 7.

Komen Texarkana is hosting a city-wide "Pink Out Texarkana Day." Their goal is to join together as a city and support an organization that educates the Texarkana area and helps fund mammograms and treatment for breast cancer patients. The event is designed to highlight the need for exams during October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.


Wear pink on Friday to show your support


Local businesses will have specials for "Pink Out Day" as well and those participants are listed on the Komen Texarkana Facebook page. Area schools are planning special events on their campuses to honor this event. Pep rallies and a balloon releases will signify the schools' support of "Pink Out Day" in Texarkana. You can enter your business into the Pink Out Contest. Post your pink pics on the Komen Texarkana Facebook page to win prizes.

This event is the lead up to the Komen Texarkana Race for the Cure which is set for Saturday, October 15.
