Usher has won the 2012 TheDrop.fm Music Award for Best R&B song for his ubiquitous love ballad 'Climax.'

Produced by Diplo, the song became the crooner's 12th No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last year.

We shouldn't be too surprised that the song won. Usher's heartbreak story of a failed relationship resonated with fans in 2012. In addition, the song garnered a nomination in the Best R&B Performance category for the 2013 Grammy Awards.

Usher's 'Climax' led the field with 31 percent of the votes to win our illustrious Best R&B song award. It surpassed chart-topping ballads from fellow singers Miguel ('Adorn'), Elle Varner ('Refill'), Chris Brown ('Turn Up the Music') and Rihanna ('Diamonds'). Now that is a climatic achievement.

Congratulations Usher! We wish you the best in 2013.
