Unreleased Kanye West Interview Surfaces on the Internet

Even before Kanye West became part of hip-hop's elite, the rapper was outspoken, controversial and passionate about his craft.
.In 2002, Yeezy gave an an interview to MTV News that was never aired. More than a decade later, the unreleased video footage has surfaced online.  During the hour-long sit down, West gave thought-provoking commentary as well as rants about off-topic subjects. "I know I'm going off tangents, but I feel like y'all can use little clips of that," he says into the camera.

While continually censoring himself and rephrasing his replies, 'Ye spoke about transitioning from producer to rapper, knowing that he would become a household name and his love of hip-hop.  The Chicago native also recalled the first time he played his music for Jay Z, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, and how he partnered with Roc-a-Fella Records. "I paid my dues man," West said.

While this interview is 11 years old, it's apparent that Kanye already is frustrated with the limitations he faced creatively. "In my heart, there’s so much stuff I want to say the world," he shared.
