The U.S. scored the first goal :30 seconds into the game, and held the lead most of the game to advance in World Cup Competition in Brazil to play Portugal tonight.

First goal came when Clint Dempsey dribbled past some players and scored a goal in the first :30 seconds. The fifth fastest goal in World Cup History.

Then came a shocker with Jozy Altidore, one of our best players, tearing his hamstring. Then Dempsey got kicked in the face leaving him with a broken nose. Ghana was able to tie the game up, but then five minutes later John Brooks came up and scored on a header off of a corner kick, and we got the lead and held on to it for the victory.

The USA is now second in Group G behind Germany. Portugal is our next opponent, they lost to Germany earlier today by a score of 4 to 0.
