Tony Stewart Gets His Third Victory of 2012 at Daytona [VIDEO]

Saturday nights NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Daytona International Speedway had to be some of the most exciting racing in all of the 2012 season so far.  Especially the last lap, and at the end of the Coke Zero 400 it was a checkered flag for Tony Stewart.

This was Tony’s third win of the season, and his 47th career victory, with 18 of them at Daytona.  Though he still has not won the Daytona 500, with his record at the track, it’s just a matter of time.

Jeff Burton finished the race in second place, followed by Matt Kenseth in third, Joey Lagano fourth and Ryan Newman wrapping up the top 5.

The big news from this weekend was the suspension of the #22 Penske Dodge Driver A.J. Allmendinger for failing a drug test.  NASCAR did not make the announcement until 90 minutes before the race.  Sam Hornish Jr. took over the ride for Allmendinger, and Penske Motor Sports is waiting to get more information, but for now are standing behind their driver.

Up next it’s the “Lenox Industrial Tools 301″ at New Hampshire.  Television coverage will begin at 11:00 a.m. Central time on TNT. By the way, I really like the job TNT has done with the broadcasts, I would much rather hear Kyle Petty in the booth, than Michael Waltrip any day… plus this promo with AC/DC just goes with it the network and NASCAR perfectly…
