TISD To Extend School Days To Make Up For Bad Weather

Texarkana Independent School District will extend the school day for all elementary and Texas middle school by 10 minutes for 10 days.

In order for the school to make the state requirements school will be extended for 10 minutes for a period of ten days from April 16 through 20 and April 23 through 27. The new adjusted start time for the elementary and middle school will be 7:40 AM.

This effects Texarkana Independent School District Elementary and Texas Middle School only. Bus schedules will be the same. This change does not affect Texas High School.

The need for the extended day was because of a bad weather day was taken in January for snow and ice.
