The Bowie County Sheriff's Office say three area individuals have been arrested for attempting to introduce a prohibited substance into the jail annex in Texarkana.

 

A month long investigation into a package that was intercepted as it was attempted to be introduced into the Bowie County Annex Jail has resulted in the arrest of three people. Rashad Edward Faucette 23 years of age of Texarkana, Texas, Michael Kamokee Wyrick 26 years of age of Texarkana, Texas and Sarina Janee Beatty 20 years of age of Hooks, Texas have all three been arrested for introducing or attempting to introduce a prohibited substance in to a correctional facility.Authorities say on September 19 a package allegedly containing marijuana and tobacco was recovered from a bathroom at the Bowie County Annex Jail after visitation during a standard search. During the course of the investigation into this package, it was found that Beatty had allegedly delivered the package and that it was intended for inmate Michael Wyrick, who is currently being held in the Bowie County Annex Jail.Captain Jerl Palmore interviewed Beatty who allegedly admitted that she had dropped the package with the intent of it making in to the jail to Wyrick. She told authorities that this was to be accomplished by former corrections officer Rashad Faucette delivering the package to Wyrick. Beatty also informed Captain Palmore that she had delivered another package to Faucette that he was to take in the jail to Wyrick.According to the sheriff's office, there was video footage and phone calls  found that confirmed the statement Beatty gave to Captain Palmore. Warrants of arrest were then obtained for all three suspects.

Faucette was arrested on October 25, 2016 at the Bi-State Building for prohibited substance in a correctional facility. His bond was set at $30,000 by Judge Gibson Hadaway.

Wyrick was arrested on October 27, 2016 for two charges of prohibited substance in a correctional facility – criminal conspiracy. His bond was set at $25,000 for each charge by Judge Nancy Talley.

Beatty was also arrested on October 27, 2016 for two charges of prohibited substance in a correctional facility – attempt. Her bond was set at $30,000 for each charge by Judge Hadaway.
