The Lucky Beggar Wallet Gift Idea — Tacky? [POLL]

The Lucky Beggar Wallet
fredflare.com

CB2, Crate and Barrel’s sister store, apparently made a huge holiday faux pas by selling a coin purse called “The Lucky Beggar Wallet” on its website. There were so many complaints that they were forced to take the item off the website. Now, everyone wants one. It is a small, zippered change holder, which is in the shape of to-go coffee cup that you might see a homeless person holding asking for money on the city streets of New York. The company has taken it off the site and offered an apology for displaying bad judgment by selling the item.

What do you think about it? Was it in poor taste or just a super funny gift idea?
