The Texas Roadhouse in Texarkana announced Thursday that the restaurant's fundraiser held on Monday raised $8,000 for the family of slain Texarkana, Texas police officer William Sprague.

Sprague died June 15 as a result of his injuries after he was hit by a vehicle on June 14 while responding to a disturbance.

The Texas Roadhouse in Texarkana hosted a free lunch and eating challenge to raise money for Sprague's family this past Monday. A dinnertime fundraiser was held later that evening as local police officers headed to the rib-eating arena for an eating challenge. All of the food and even the employees' time was donated. A big thank you goes out to all that attended or donated. There is an upcoming golf scramble to help officers Sprague's family. Find out more here.
