Texas A&M Cadet Gets Reward for Protecting Mascot at Game [VIDEO]
When Cadet Ryan Kreider showed up to watch the game between Texas A&M and Southern Methodist he didn't know that he would become famous for doing his job and protecting "Reveille VIII" the A&M mascot.
Cadet Kreider was at his post protecting the team mascot a Collie by the name of "Reveille VIII" when he saw Der'rrik Thomson heading straight for the dog. Kreider lowered his shoulder and prevented Miss Reveille from getting hurt.
As a reward for his actions, the Commandant of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, General Joe Ramirez announced on his Facebook Page that he will be purchasing Kreider's Senior Boots.
Cadet Ryan Kreider made ALL Aggies VERY proud today! What a selfless way for a cadet to take care of our beloved mascot, Miss Reveille. As a result, the Commandant is going to buy Ryan's Senior Boots. Fellow cadets can give him junior/senior privileges as they deem appropriate, but I am so proud of what he did, that I'm willing to do something a little more "substantial" to show the appreciation of ALL Aggies for his selfless act. Ryan, thanks for being such a superb example of what being a member of the Corps of Cadets and being an Aggie is all about! Your senior boots are now compliments of the Commandant! Well done, Ryan! Aggie nation is VERY proud of you!
The boots cost up to $1,000 and more.
