The Texarkana Texas Police Department is expanding its hours this summer.

The Texarkana Texas Police Department will expand its hours during summer months to better meet the needs of residents. The administrative offices of the department will be open Monday thru Thursday from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

This new schedule will be in effect until Labor Day, Monday, September 1st, 2014 and is meant to encourage citizens to conduct business before or after the normal 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. work hours.

Police Sergeant Aaron Brower explains the expanded hours.

We hope the summer schedule will better serve our community,” Brower said. “We recognize that our citizens have a normal workday, so we want to be open earlier and stay open later to be more accessible.”

The offices of CID and Patrol will maintain a normal schedule throughout the summer.
