Marvel loves to sneak Easter eggs of all sizes into their films for comic fans to parse through — it cam be something as big as Nick Fury’s post-credits appearance in the first Iron Man or something as small as a billboard in Thor advertising a “journey into mystery.” Spider-Man: Homecoming snuck a few references of its own in, one of which has caused some major speculation among fans about certain ancient religions.

In a short establishing shot of the Thai restaurant Peter Parker and his Aunt May go to at one point in the movie (don’t worry, no spoilers here) there’s a sign in the window of a neighboring building that probably won’t mean anything to you unless you can read Korean or have REALLY good eyesight. Here’s the shot:

“Korean Church of Asgard”??? Are people worshipping Norse deities again? Do we have an American Gods situation on our hands? First spotted by a Reddit user, this teeny little detail could imply a whole lot about how the MCU is evolving. The “Battle of New York” was a pretty public affair, and folks surely know that there’s an Avenger out there who is THE Thor of ancient myth, and that his mischievous brother Loki also exists, so somewhere out there has to be an Asgard, an Odin, etc.

Which actually fits in with where the MCU is headed. Thor: Ragnarok is, obviously, bringing the Asgardian apocalypse, and whatever ramifications that will have for Earth. Ragnarok will also guide the series right into Infinity War: Kevin Feige recently explained that things will change “drastically” for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes after whatever happens in Ragnarok leads us straight to Thanos and his gauntlet. If there’s already a growing number of Thor worshippers out there on Earth, the two realms are connected much closer than we thought.

Or, this could just be a little joke that one of the set designers threw into this scene as yet another fun way to connect Homecoming to the wider Avengers universe. Normally, in these situations, the simplest explanation is the correct one. I personally don’t expect this Church of Asgard thing to go anywhere, but it would be cool if it did.
