UPDATE September 1 - Still available: Luke and Monte are brothers and they came to the shelter together. They are approximately one and a half years old. They are both sweet dogs; a little slow to warm up but will quickly form a bond and will guard and protect their new family. Luke and Monte seem to be interested in frisbees and balls so we are sure they could learn to play fetch.

UPDATE September 1 - Sahara has been ADOPTED! Sahara is a shepherd mix. She is approximately one and a half years old. An energetic dog with a great personality. She is tall and lanky now since she is still in the puppy stage, once she is filled out completely you can expect her to be a large dog. Sahara is very friendly and fun. She has a wonderful character and could easily learn to play fetch.

Scarlet is approximately two years old. Her beautiful blonde brindle color makes her stand out. She is only about knee-high. A little skittish coming out of the shelter but quickly warmed up and came to me when I called her...except the first time because she was checking out all of the smells when I brought her into the exercise area. This is basically a virtual tour of the adoptable animals at the Texarkana, Arkansas Animal Care and Adoption Center. I took several videos week so you could see all of the animals that are need of homes. Be sure to turn the volume down if you are at work.

Rocky is a Black Mouth Cur mix. He is a little over 1 year old. Rocky is very sweet and good on a leash. He is very mild mannered but still playful. His estimated weight is 60 pounds.

Our feature pets this week are Oreo and Morris. Oreo is a terrier mix that is approximately 2 years old that lives in kennel D7. Morris is a 2 year old cat that currently lives in kennel C38.
