The Salvation Army of Texarkana is facing a significant funding deficit and unless additional funding sources are secured quickly the organization will have no alternative but to cut back services to the community.

This year has been a record year for disasters in Texas. Flooding and tornadoes have dominated our state leaving many survivors homeless and hurt. Your local Salvation Army participated in disaster relief work in Houston, Richmond and Karnack, Texas providing comfort to thousands of affected families.

With winter in full swing, consider donating coats to help The Salvation Army keep underprivileged children warm.

Several names of angels are still on our tree at the radio station. I counted at least nine children's names hanging on the tree today. The deadline to deliver presents to the Salvation Army is Tuesday, Dec. 8. These children need clothing and toys. Can you help?

Each year in Texarkana, and hundreds of other cities throughout the United States, The Salvation Army offers holiday shoppers the opportunity to make someone's Christmas wish come true by adopting a child through the Angel Tree Program.
