Dumbo is a male Ragdoll mix. He is a lover and not a fighter. This guy will do anything to get into your lap or have you pet him. He might even follow you around like a dog just so you will love on him!
This week's dog is Ray! She was named such because she is such a ray of sunshine and happiness even though she has been in the last kennel on the adoption floor for a few months now.
Meet Rudey! He is a male terrier mix waiting at the Texarkana animal shelter to be adopted. When he first came to the shelter several months ago he was a bit of a fighter but now this little guy has had a full transformation! He couldn't wait to run and play with other dogs. You have got to watch the video of this little guy in action!
Trojan is our featured pet this week. He is a purebred Doberman at the animal shelter in Texarkana. Surprisingly enough, the shelter often gets purebred dogs and cats.
Hoss is a bundle of fun. He is a Brindle Boxer Mix who loves to romp and enjoys affection. He comes when called. His personality is joyful. When he runs he is super fast! He could be your best bud.
This male Chartreux mix has his cat routine down. He's slick and cool except for when it comes to jumping up on window sills (watch the video for that)! But this guy did not get his name for just being good at being a cat. Romeo loves his humans. He wants attention, affection and affirmation whenever you are willing to hand it to him. This guy is the perfect snuggle buddy. All Romeo is missing is
Leisel is a beautiful female lab mix that is at our animal shelter in Texarkana. She walks fantastic on a leash--as if she has had a lot of training. She is a very calm dog to be so young. Her estimated age is two years old. She would make an excellent friend and companion! She does not bark--a very quiet dog. She loves to run and play but is also down to earth and gentle.
Rhyme is very friendly! He loves people and other dogs. He is a bit calmer than most small dogs of his breed although he does still have plenty of energy to keep up with the family. He is a lot of fun!
Pikachu is a male orange tabby and is pretty friendly. Pikachu is a curious and loving cat who has a way of keeping you entertained. He doesn't mind being held but is more interested in his toys. Pikachu seems to get along fine with other cats. He doesn't scratch or bite and generally seems to be ready to explore.
This week's pooch is Baxter, a male bloodhound mix. He has been at the pound since he was a puppy and has grown up here - he is probably a year old now. He is the most laid back and lazy dog I have ever met at the pound. His favorite thing to do is lying around. Of course he is still a lot of fun. I think he would be a great dog for first time dog owners.
Whoever ends up with this dog is going to be very lucky! Outlaw is a super docile Black Lab mix. He is great with other dogs and very submissive. Outlaw is awesome on the leash and fetches along with bringing the ball back! A little shy but once you spend some time with him, he comes to life. You really can't ask for a better dog, but he has been in the pound since November.
Jenny is a young brindle pitt who was pregnant when she was taken to the shelter. Jenny was wondering the streets of Texarkana in search of food. She was able to have her babies in the shelter and now that they have all gone to new homes Jenny is ready for a new home too.
Jenny is a compact size weighing approximately 40 pounds. She is good on a leash and is very quiet at the shelter. She is happy
