Provide a Pet a Pad Tuesday: Red Needs a Home [PHOTOS/VIDEO]
Red is approximately 3 years old. This pitt is a gentle giant. The kennel staff say he gets along with dogs large and small, including a chihuahua that climbs all over him. Red comes with a free wellness exam from Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital.
Our local animal shelter currently has over 70 dogs, many puppies, over 30 cats and kittens available for adoption. There are many others waiting for their chance to get on the adoption floor so please consider adding a furry friend to your family. The fee to adopt a dog is only $40 and just $20 for a cat.
Now through the end of October, Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital is starting a drive to Chip Texarkana by micro-chipping your pet . For each pet that is chipped, $10 will be donated to the local animal rescue or local animal shelter of your choice.

Crawfish Eating Contest at Mudbug Madness Festival, Mimi on Power959 [VIDEOS]
Mudbug Madness was a few weeks ago in Shreveport. I love to shop the vendor booths, eat crawfish of course and listen to zydeco music. This year I decided to get into the crawfish eating contest too. It just happened to be scheduled for the same day we were planning to go to the festival so why not. There were only 15 seats in the contest so we had to beat feet to get there on time.

Check out our in-studio dog guest from the local shelter. Goliath is a 2 and one-half year old Lab/Schnauzer. He was found as a stray by animal control officers on County Avenue in Texarkana. He is a very friendly, sweet boy.
