Did you dress your pet up for Halloween this year? I usually do but I spared my pooch this year. He didn't seem to be in the holiday spirit, as you can see in the video below.

On a day that doesn't seem very hot to you like a 78 degree day, the temperature inside your car can reach 120 degrees within minutes and cracking your windows will not help enough to save your pet or child. What would you do if you saw a dog inside of a car that was not running, the windows were down by about 5 inches and it was 81 degrees on a partly sunny day?

This makes me mad and sad at the same time! If you have been to the Jeffurson Dog Park recently, then you've probably seen this really cool welded chain link sculpture of a dog.  Well, someone stole it. To make it even worse? It was a memorial in honor of Dru Hall who passed away a couple of years ago.

All of these puppies have been give up by their owners or they were strays that came into the shelter by way of animal control officers or citizens that found them wandering the streets of Texarkana. The animal shelter had 30 to 40 animals dropped on them yesterday. When high numbers of animals come into the shelter like that, they are busting at the seams.

Many people have recently mistakenly thought that our animal shelter in Texarkana was a no kill shelter. That simply is not possible.
