Animal Care and Adoption Center

Are you missing a dog? If you are it is always a good idea to check the animal shelter in Texarkana daily to make sure your missing animal hasn't been picked up by animal control or taken to the shelter by a citizen. Here are some of the dogs that were at the shelter in the stray hold areas as of Monday, May 16, 2016:

This very large and very sweet Rottweiler is a special needs boy. Zeus is deaf and has some hip dysplasia. He was given up to the animal shelter in Texarkana by his owner this past April. He is a loving dog and deserves a caring owner who can manage his needs.

This week we are featuring two gorgeous puppies. They are catahoulas and possibly hound mixes. One is a male and one is a female. It is not clear but they appear to be siblings. The dapple markings are eye-catching and these puppies are just longing for attention and love.

Cookie Dough is our Pet of the Week. He is a pit bull mix, neutered and probably around two years old. He loves to be pet and play. He runs around like a puppy. He pressed his side against the kennel gate just begging for attention. Since he is already neutered, his adoption fee is only $40 from the Animal Care and Adoption Center in Texarkana, Ark. on Harrison Street.

This Yellow Lab was picked up as a stray on Monday, April 25 on Will Greer Road. She is now at the Animal Care and Adoption Center of Texarkana, Ark. which is our local animal shelter. Please share her information so we can get her back home or find a new home for her.

Look at this stray dog. He is a Black Lab and currently at the animal shelter in Texarkana known as the Animal Care and Adoption Center of Texarkana, Ark. He was picked up on Will Greer Road on Monday, April 25.

Our featured pet this week is a Dutch shepherd mix. She is approximately 1 year old and very sweet. She runs super fast. She enjoys affection and hanging out with her person too. Very smart. She walked great on a leash and when it was time to go back into the shelter from the exercise area, she listened and did exactly as I asked.

Our featured pet this week is a shepherd puppy named Dingo from the animal shelter in Texarkana. He is one smart pup, too. He already knows how to play fetch and even brings the ball to you. He would make a great family pet. He isn't too rough for young children either. I would estimate his age at 3 months. This boy is an adorable, smart and fun puppy. You better scoop him up quickly.

Raddy is between 1 and 2 years old. He is a hound mix. Raddy is a happy-go-lucky dog. He likes to play and romp. You can adopt him for just $40, which includes his vetting.

The second annual Fur Ball is this Saturday in Texarkana. The funds raised will benefit our local animal shelter, the Animal Care and Adoption Center, in Texarkana, Ark.

The first thing you'll notice about Bruno is his big head and then he looks at you with those blue eyes and he's got your attention. He is currently at the animal shelter in Texarkana, Ark.

Angelica is our featured shelter pet this week. She is a little over 1 year old and is a mixed breed dog. It looks like she may have some Lab in her but her size is much smaller than the typical Lab. Angelica loves to play fetch and give dog kisses.
