State Audit Approved Concerning Texarkana Arkansas

Texarkana, Arkansas finances concerning the Crossroads Business Park will be audited by the state.A subcommittee  of the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee agreed to refer the case to the Division of Legislative Audit. Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Carlton Jones, State Representative Prissy Hickerson and State Senator Jimmy Hickey requested audit on behalf of Texarkana, Arkansas Mayor Wayne Smith.

Smith wants the auditors to look at around $584,000 that was moved from a water utility fund into the city's general fund. Smith contends that money was later provided to developers of a Water Park and Convention Center.
