A new study has found that people who eat spicy foods live longer. If that is the case, I should live to be 125 years old! I love spicy food. Tonight is Mexican food night at my house and I just told my husband that I could eat Mexican food every day. When crawfish season is in I could eat spicy mudbugs every day, too. How about you? Are you a spicy food fan?

The Harvard School of Public Health studied data from more than 500,000 people found that people who ate spicy foods once or twice a week were 10 percent more likely to live longer than people who don't. If you eat spicy foods three or four times a week, they bumped it up your longevity by 14 percent. People that ate spicy foods in this study were found to have less of a risk of getting cancer, heart disease and lung disease.

The researchers say they need to study it more before they can say for a fact that spicy food makes you live a longer and healthier life, but it appears that the evidence is all definitely pointing that way so splash some habanero pepper sauce on your scrambled eggs or chop up some jalapenos on top of anything you eat.

Spice up your life to live longer!
