Some roads in several counties in Southwest Arkansas are set to see some improvements according to Highway officials.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Columbia County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.

The purpose of this project is to resurface approximately 3.5 miles of County Road 13 in Magnolia. Improvements will begin at U.S. Highway 82 and extend northward.

Jet Asphalt & Rock Co., Inc. of El Dorado was awarded the contract at $456,056.00.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2018.

Another project is in Lafayette County. The purpose of this project is to reseal approximately 3.9 miles of County Road 22 and 1.6 miles of County Road 23 near Stamps.

C & F Construction Co., Inc. of Smackover was awarded the contract at $283,051.67.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in late 2018.
