Sarah McLachlan would not want to be a coach on The Voice. However, she would consider a spot on the show as an adviser.

In an interview with E! News, which is debuting her new single on Tuesday, Sarah says she thinks it would be a fun role for her. She adds, “I could never be a judge because I think everybody would hate me! I think I'd be nice, but I'm always amazed that they have so much to say about each performance…I think I would just be sitting there mute, going, ‘I don't really have anything to offer.'"

Maybe Sarah will want to keep an eye on The Voice this week, as Coldplay’s Chris Martin continues to serve as a mentor for all four teams during the latest installment of battle rounds. In fact, Sarah says Chris is one artist with whom she’d love to collaborate. She also mentions Peter Gabriel, Ray LaMontagne, folk rock band Bon Iver and Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody as dream collaborators.

Sarah McLachlan will release her new album, Shine On, on May 6.
