After a decade on the hit medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy,' actress Sandra Oh has announced that she will be leaving the ABC series, making the show's tenth season her last.

"It's been a great privilege to play the character of Cristina Yang on 'GA,' and I am both sad and excited to see where this, her final season will take her," Oh informed Entertainment Weekly.

She continued, "It was an emotional and deeply creative decision for me and I feel fully supported by Shonda [Rhimes, the show's creator and executive producer] and the writers."

"Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go," Oh concluded of the move.

The role earned her a Golden Globe in 2006 and five Emmy nominations between 2005 and 2009, but Oh's exit as a surgeon on the show does not mean an end to 'Grey's Anatomy.'

So at least there's that.

"It's our intention to have 'Grey's' on the air for many years to come, with as many of the original cast as possible," confirmed a representative for the network.
