The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Foundation is hosting a “Roast and Toast” to celebrate the service of Representative Mary “Prissy” Hickerson.  The event will be today in the Arkansas Convention Center Texarkana at 5200 Convention Plaza Drive and will begin with a reception at 6:00p.m.  Roasters for the evening will include Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Former Governor Mike Huckabee, Senator Jimmy Hickey, and the Honorable Jonathan Barnett.

The evening will be full of reminiscing and the telling of half truths about Representative Hickerson’s years of public service.  Roby Brock of Talk Business and Politics will serve as the emcee for the evening and will certainly work to keep the balance of truths about her years of service.

Hickerson served 10 years as a member of the Arkansas Highway Commission.  As a commissioner, Hickerson worked for funding of Loop 245 and the construction of the Arkansas Highway 549.  Loop 245 is named the “Hickerson Highway” in honor of her work on this project.  Hickerson was elected to represent District 1 in November of 2010 and will retire this December.
