The group has received many donated art pieces from local artists to auction off and raise money for the American Cancer Society. Silent bidding and online viewing is February 20-24, 2017. Artwork will also be available for viewing at Downtown Gallery/Studio 218 on Broad Street and Knock on Wood Vintage Supply Co.

The final showing of the Paint Your World Purple Art Auction will he held downtown during the annual Mardi Gras celebration at Front Street Festival Plaza in Texarkana, Ark. “We are so glad to be available to spread the word about the American Cancer Society during such a great event!,” said Katie Stone, event coordinator for the art auction benefiting American Cancer Society through Relay for Life of Texarkana. The Relay for Life walk will be Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 3:30PM to 9:30PM at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana, Ark. The event begins with the Survivors Lap, then the Caregivers Lap followed by the Luminaria Ceremony. To find out more, visit Texarkana Relay for Life.

According to the Texarkana Relay for Life Facebook page, “Relay began in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon in Tacoma, Washington, ran and walked around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since then, Relay has grown from a single man’s passion to fight cancer into the world’s largest movement to end the disease.”
