Red Lick Middle Schooler Wins Race for the Cure Shirt Design Contest

Each year Komen Race for the Cure holds an art competition in Texarkana for first through fifth grade students to submit their designs in the contest. The winning design is featured on all of the kids' T-Shirt for Komen Arkansas - Texarkana Race for the Cure.

This year's winner is a Red Lick Middle School student. It was a surprise announcement and celebration on Thursday, Aug. 24 at the school. The winner is now a 6th grader. His name is Diego Bustamante. The contest was completed in the Spring of last school year. The winners artwork will be printed on 500 Kids for the Cure t-shirts. He also received a Komen goody bag, his artwork in a frame and the first Kids for the Cure t-shirt printed this year. His entire class enjoyed treats at the party.
