We are all cancer victims. I know that's a huge statement and while not all of us have received that devastating diagnosis, each of us has been ill-affected by this heinous disease.

The Texarkana Jeep Junkies Club (TJJC) experienced the ill-effects of cancer on December 5, 2014 when they lost one of their charter members to an aggressive, fast moving cancer. Rebecca Martin was the type of person who everyone needs in their lives. A true angel on earth. Her friendship knew no bounds. Her love for her friends was exceeded only by her love for God, her husband, Russell, and their son, Ben. In the aftermath of her death, the Jeep Junkies felt the need to do something in her memory.

Something that would make a difference.

"Rebecca's Ride to Cure Cancer" emerged as the weapon to fight this killer called cancer. The Junkie's have partnered with the Cancer Research Institute, an amazing organization dedicated to finding a cure for all types of cancer. This event is held in memory of Rebecca and her name is front and center, but she is representative of literally millions of mothers, fathers, sister, brothers, and friends stricken with cancer in all its hideous forms. They invite you to join them in their fight to end cancer.

This year, the TJJC will host the Second Annual Rebecca's Ride to Cure Cancer on May 14 at Gregg Orr Extreme Auto & ATV on State Line Avenue. They will be there from 11AM until 4PM. This event is hosted by a Jeep club, but the event is about life. Life without cancer. They will have something for everybody: A Jeep show, a raffle and silent auction (lots of great stuff), face painting, live music, a bounce house, burgers and hot dogs.

They are even going to have Jeeps climbing over a car. No one ever said you can't have a good time while promoting a great cause. You can be part of putting an end to cancer, so come by help out this great cause. As they say in the Jeep world -- "JEEP ON!"
