The Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels have an early season showdown this weekend in Arlington. The two teams that hope to be at the top of the American League West standings come the end of September, are set for three games in Texas. Both teams ended last year on a down note, as the Oakland A's ended up winning the division and making the playoffs.

It will be the first chance for Rangers fans to react to Josh Hamilton, as he comes back to town as a member of the Angels. Besides Hamilton, the Rangers also parted ways with Michael Young and Mike Napoli.

Texas enters the series with a 2-1 record after taking two of three from the Astros in Houston. The Angels are 1-2 after losing two of three to Cincinnati.
