Can you believe these two are still at the pound?! They are still as friendly and docile as ever. Hopefully they find their forever home soon: Terra and Liesel deserve great homes. To help find their forever homes, both these girls have been sponsored so that their adoption fee is only $40 each!

Terra and Liesel are greyhound retriever mixes who are loved by every one who knows them. The sisters have been at the pound for many months and yet they hardly every bark and still have a very carefree calm nature about them. These two are excellent dogs at fetch, they walk well on the leash and are great with other dogs. They also love to great new people and are very sociable.

Terra and Liesel would make great dogs for the first time dog owner because they don't demand much attention to fur and coat and have low energy levels. They love to run but just like greyhounds, once they have had their burst of energy, all the want to do for the rest of the day is be your couch potatoes. These girls are real treasures and it's baffling that no one has come for them yet. Come and meet these beauties and you will not forget them!

Previous Blog About Liesel:

Liesel is a beautiful female lab mix that is at our animal shelter in Texarkana. She walks fantastic on a leash--as if she has had a lot of training. She is a very calm dog to be so young. Her estimated age is two years old. She would make an excellent friend and companion! She does not bark--a very quiet dog. She loves to run and play but is also down to earth and gentle.

Liesel and her sister Tara are both up for adoption at Animal Care and Adoption Center and if you are looking for a beautiful and well mannered dog to enter your life, these girls are at the shelter waiting for you.

Liesel loves affection as you will see in the video. She is not afraid of water either so if you are a boating or lake sort of person, you could even take her along on your weekend trips! She will stay close without the worry of her running off. She likes to chase balls and is good with other dogs. Should could easily learn to run beside you if you are a runner or next to your bike because she is eager to please and unlikely to pull you down or trip you up.

It is so unfortunate that there are thousands of dogs that are euthanized every year in our local shelter when there are so many dogs that would make fabulous pets. Please help us make a difference by spreading the word--share this blog on your Facebook page, Tweet about it too.

The shelter's adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet. You can also have your pet micro-chipped for only $20 right at the shelter! That way if your pet is ever lost, he can be returned to you quickly.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 203 Harrison St., Texarkana, Ark. 71854 and is open Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
