Dylan Yowell is a 13-year old boy from El Dorado, Arkansas who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia a year ago. Because of his disease, he has required treatment that includes blood products. He is one of the many reasons that we should all donate blood as often as possible.

My brother-in-law would not be here today if people did not donate blood. He was involved in an accident in 2000 and required 40+ units of blood. You can help save a life by donating blood at LifeShare Blood Center in Texarkana today.

Dylan and his mother Jackie Fuller are the focus of the newest billboard campaign by LifeShare Blood Centers.

“My husband has given blood as often as he could for years. Little did we know how much that would mean to our family and how it could impact others. Thank God for blood donors who understand the need and give regularly. Because of them, the blood was available for transfusion during Dylan’s time of need,” says Fuller.

“The billboards serve as a reminder to residents that giving blood is a community responsibility. Because LifeShare is the primary blood provider to medical facilities in the areas where the blood is donated, it goes right back to save the lives of family, friends and neighbors. Dylan is one of the many residents in which blood donation has made a life-saving difference,” says Tina Martinez, Communications Director for LifeShare Blood Centers.

Dylan is currently in maintenance chemotherapy.
