Play It Forward is a community program created by Shaleigh Chandler for her gold award project for Girl Scouts.

Chandler needs your help to make this a success. Through this program, she hopes to make it possible for more children to participate in sports.

Play it Forward is holding a city-wide sports equipment drive . Any equipment donation is greatly appreciated. Some items they are looking for include: softballs, baseballs, tee balls, bats, gloves, soccer balls, shin guards, cleats and track spikes of all kinds, volley balls, basketballs, tennis balls, rackets,training equipment such as soccer nets, cones,practice jerseys, hit sticks, tees, ankle weights, kettle bells, dumbbells, parachute runners, and resistance bands.

If you can donate it, they can find a child or new coach who needs it. If you own more than you need, please help this organization.

Drop off locations are Morriss Elementary School, Texas High School, the Girl Scout office, and the Southwest Center. You can also drop them off at the free sports camp on Saturday from 9AM-3PM at the Texas High multipurpose facility.

The sports clinic event is Saturday at the Texas High multipurpose facility and is open for ages 4 years through 5th grade. Registration begins at 8:30AM. Students can attend all three clinics.

Softball clinic hosted by Southern Diamonds Fastpitch 9-11AM.

Track and field clinic hosted by Twin City Track Club 11AM-1PM.

Soccer clinic hosted by Texarkana Soccer Association 1-3PM. Bring your own water and equipment. Come out and let your child have some free fun, learn new skills or improve those they already have. Learn how to get registered in one of these three local programs so your child can start having fun today and develop a lifelong love for health and exercise.
