Pharrell Williams has received his first Oscar nomination, earning a nod in the category for Best Original Song for "Happy," the song he wrote for the animated film Despicable Me 2.

It's turning into a great awards season for Pharrell, who already has seven Grammy nominations, thanks to his involvement in two of the year's biggest hits: "Blurred Lines" and "Get Lucky."

Rock superstars U2 were also nominated for their song "Ordinary Love," from the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.  The song won a Golden Globe this past weekend.  And while the Golden Globes gave Best Original Song nominations to the likes of Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift and Coldplay, the Academy Awards didn't recognize those songs at all.

Here's the full list of Best Original Song nominees:

"Ordinary Love" from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, U2
"Happy," from Despicable Me 2, Pharrell Williams
"Let It Go" from Frozen, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez
"The Moon Song," from Her, Karen O. and Spike Jonze
"Alone Yet Not Alone" from Alone Yet Not Alone, Bruce Bruoghton and Dennis Spiegel
