Pet of the Week is Water Loving, Playful Dutch Shepherd Mix Malta

Malta is a dutch shepherd mix spayed female. She is a fun-loving, water dog. The videos below show this is a super fun dog. She plays Frisbee and loves to jump in the pool. She is approximately 1 year old. Adopt her today for just $40.

The photos and videos do an excellent job of showing Malta's character. She is good on a leash too. She plays Frisbee like she could possibly catch it in the air if she had a good thrower. She loves people and has a happy-go-lucky attitude. A kiddie swimming pool and a rope toy is all she needs to entertain herself for hours. This would be a great take-to-the-lake dog. She jumped in the pool, laid down and crawled around on her stomach. Getting out and about made her so happy.

Agility dog plus. This girl can jump, drop and crawl and then hit the turbo button and turn and burn. She is so fast. Think of how much fun she would be at the dog park. The Arkansas side dog park has an agility course too. There are some folks in Texarkana who get together and do agility training too so it could be a new group of friends for you.

Malta is at the Texarkana ACAC. She has been at the shelter since December, which means she has been missing out on a lot of fun family time. She was once someone's dog because she has a spay tattoo on her belly from Pleasant Grove Animal Hospital. If you would like to foster this dog, contact one of our local dog rescues. The rescues pay for any vetting fees. You provide a safe home, with a fenced yard and food. As a foster your other responsibilities include getting the dog to adoption events on Saturdays.

The shelter's adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet. You can also have your pet microchipped for only $20 at the shelter. That way if your pet is ever lost, he or she can be returned to you quickly.
