It's one of those days that really marks the true beginning of Spring, as today is Opening Day for Major League Baseball. It's a day where everyone starts in first place and even the Chicago Cubs fans can dream of making it to the World Series. Now I am not personally a Cubs fan so I cannot relate to their long drought of not making it to the Series.

Being a Cardinals, and Rangers fan, we have gotten use to the teams making the playoffs and getting to the World Series.

The question for the Rangers is how will their pitching hold up this season and will Prince Fielder have a big year at the plate with his new team.

The Cardinals, if they all stay healthy, have one of the better pitching rotations in the majors. It will be interesting to see if former Pleasant Grove star Michael Wacha can continue the extraordinary pitching he showed in last year's postseason.

We also will be watching in Boston, to see if former L-E star Will Middlebrooks can stay healthy and have a big year at the plate and at third base for the defending champion Red Sox.

It should be an exciting year with lots of local stories involved and I expect to be writing about the Rangers, Wacha, and Middlebrooks often this year.
