When Barbara Walters counts down her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2012 Wednesday night on ABC, One Direction will be among them.  And in a preview of her interview with them, 1D compare their fans to zombies but in a nice way.

In the preview, which aired on ABC's Good Morning America, Walters asks the group, "Have you gotten used to it?  The screams, the yells, the girls?" Niall Horan replies, "I was actually thinking about it yesterday.  Because we were heading out to go to a concert and we turned the corner from our hotel and all the girls started running down the main avenue after us, and it was like something from a zombie movie!  And we're like, 'How could you ever get used to this?'"

The group's Harry Styles says he manages to put the hysteria surrounding the group in perspective by comparing his own reaction to the bands he likes.  "I kinda think about how highly I think of my favorite bands, especially when I was younger," says Taylor Swift's alleged boyfriend.  "And to think that we are some people's favorite band is insane."

Harry swears that no matter how much he likes a group, he "still wouldn't probably camp outside places" to see them.  He adds, "But people camp out for days to come to things that we do, and it's just amazing."

You'll be able to see the full 1D interview when Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2012 airs December 12 at 9:30 p.m. ET.  Others who are "most fascinating" to Walters include New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, 50 Shades of Greyauthor EL James, Honey Boo Boo, Seth McFarlane, Ben Affleck and Olympic Gold medalist Gabby Douglas.
