One Direction Officially Releases New Single, "Best Song Ever"

One Direction has finally released their new single, “Best Song Ever.” The lyrics center around a romantic moment with a girl while dancing to the “best song ever.” At one point, the boys sing, "She said I had a dirty mouth But she kissed me like she meant it."

“Best Song Ever” calls to mind the song “Baba O’Riley” by The Who, especially in the beginning. 1D producer Julian Bunetta has actually addressed the similarity with MTV News, saying, "Well I mean it starts with a synth and 'Baba O'Riley' starts with a synth. I mean that's a huge compliment because if that can evoke that same excitement than that's amazing but that was not the...we weren't saying, 'OK, let's rip off 'Baba O'Riley.’”

One Direction is currently touring North America. Their 3D film, This Is Us, opens August 29.
